I love iced coffee..especially in 100+ degree weather! And even more so when I have to make it to class on those hot days! I wanted to share my quick and easy iced coffee recipe with you all. It requires minimal work and easy clean up…plus no fancy coffee machine here– just a simple french press!
French Pressed Iced Coffee
-1 cup of ground coffee
-half and half
-1/4 cup of sugar (or other sweetener of your choice…or you can leave it out if you want. This sounds like a lot but this recipe makes about 4 servings of iced coffee for me!)
First add the coffee to the french press and pour in hot water until you have about an inch left on top. This is going to make double strength coffee which is ideal for iced coffee since some of the ice will eventually melt and water it down. Place the lid on the press and steep for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, pour the coffee into a large jar or storage container of your choice. Place a lid on it and refrigerate it overnight (which is what I usually do) or for a few hours until cooled. When you are ready to serve, fill a glass (or mason jar) with ice. Pour in your chilled coffee leaving room for the cream. Pour in a splash or two of half and half and stir well to mix. You’re all done! Enjoy! Now you should have enough iced coffee left for a few more days 🙂
